Tibetan Medicine Initial Intake

1:45 MINUTES — 2 HOURS

Initial intake includes a complete dietary and health history intake. You will receive individualized information for integrating your comprehensive health plan, including diet and lifestyle changes to increase well being. Some will choose to receive traditional Tibetan medicine supplements, or other supplements may be suggested. In some cases, lab work with a general practitioner MD will be suggested to check various lab levels. Follow up visits review and monitor progress with the health plan. These are scheduled according to your individual needs to refine further improvements to your health plan, and typically are more frequent in 4-8 weeks initially and then gradually moving to seasonally or every 6 months.

We do not offer distance consults. This is for ethical reasons of being more assured you are receiving accurate and traditional care. Traditional Tibetan medicine requests urine samples and the reading of your pulse and tongue according to the Tibetan Medical Tantras. We will see long distance patients, but only if they agree to seasonal or appropriately scheduled rechecks. No traditional Tibetan Supplement formulas will be refilled beyond 6 months, or without a valid and recognized Menpa script within the past 6 months. This is determined on a case by case basis and at the discretion of the Tibetan physicians.

We welcome collaboration with all licensed health professionals and alternative healers for well rounded and complete care. Referrals for following up with other licensed health professionals may occur and be suggested or recommended when we feel it is in your best interest.

The initial intake can take up to 2 hours and follow up sessions are up to an hour. If you want to receive bodywork this is an additional appointment.

SEEN PRIOR — (BUT NOT FOR 3+ YEARS)

1.5 HR RECHECK IS REQUIRED

If you have been seen by either Menpa Tsundu or Menpa Nashalla in the past, yes, you are an existing client. However health is not static. Time, life and age change things. Therefore we will need to have seen you within the last three years to schedule a 1hr re-check. Otherwise you will need a 1.5 hour re-check.

If your case has not been seen in longer than 5+ years (or beyond the required time for maintaining HIPPA files), understand files may have been destroyed properly, and you will be asked to re-fill out all the paperwork and we will ask for a 2 hour intake.

Tibetan Medicine &

Five Element Acupuncture ~

Combined Initial Intake

3 HOURS

If you think you may want to have Menpa Nashalla combine her Tibetan Medicine with Acupuncture, you will need to have a full diagnosis and initial protocols done for BOTH systems.

New clients wanting to pursue both Tibetan Medicine and Acupuncture have option for a 3-hour initial consult to avoid separate two hour intakes as many aspects do have crossover.

However, out of respect for both systems, this cannot simply be an “add on” mid treatment. meaning you can’t have not completed a full Five Element Initial diagnostic and protocol session and ask to “add in needles” or ask “would needles be useful for this?” and except that Nashalla can automatically add in needles.

If you suspect you may want to be able to be flexible and have 90 min sessions that combine both at a later date PLEASE ASK FOR THIS OPTION WHEN SCHEDULING AN INITAL CONSULT. If you would prefer to just do Acupuncture or just do Tibetan Medicine this is 100% fine, a two hour initial consult is fine. Just be clear on protocol so that you do not have to repeat a two hour at a later date.

Sowa Birthing Method

90 MINUTES

The Sowa Birthing Method ™ protocol was developed by Nashalla G. Nyinda, Menpa (TMD) LMT over several decades of working with expectant mothers. The heart mission behind this work is providing expectant mothers and little ones support and care for the Body-Mind-Spirit. Working within nature’s rhythms, a series of treatments helps ripen and prepare mom and baby to embody a centered confidence for birthing.

Clinical studies show that birthing outcomes for women who have been supported during pregnancy with massage and bodywork, as well as having been taught skills to relax the nervous system and mentally prepare for birth typically involve less complications, interventions and help decrease postpartum depression rates.

We begin working together in week 35 of your pregnancy, or week 34 if you have twins. Flower buds take time to both form and open slowly. This the allotment of time it take to safely ripen the nervous system for the big day, in a mental non-invasive and relaxed way that matches nature. Just as a flower bud is tightly shut it opens slowly in its own time. The weekly session work with the uncoiling to fully ripen and open the body for the Surender of birthing in a ways that feels connected to the natural order of things.

Sometimes older patients are given structure cut off dates they will not be allowed to cross for gestation, and in such cases we can add in twice weekly sessions when you cross week 37 that will nudge the process forward in a way that can help aid avoiding a medicalized induction.

Initial consult and 1st treatment (2 hours)

  • 4 additional weekly sessions of 90 min each massage, acupressure/acupuncture

This is a package product: Should you give birth before the 5th sessions, it’s converted to a postnatal treatment good for 6 months from delivery date. Any additional sessions until birth, or in postpartum are offered as a seepage discounted rate outside the package.

Wellness & Dietary Lifestyle Plan

1.5-2 HOURS

Tibetan Medicine works by accessing an individual’s elements and their organ systems. The body is comprised of three main energies (often translated as “humors”). These are rLung - wind (pronounced “Loong”), mKhrispa - fire (pronounced “Tripa”) and Badkan earth-water (pronounced “Pay-kan”). These three primary energies exist both in healthy and unhealthy states.

The goal is to have balance or homeostasis which is fluid and transitional with the seasons and life cycles and stages. Tibetan Buddhist psychology, spiritual well being, personal satisfaction and happiness, along with other support systems are applied to increase overall well being.

The first session is around 1.5 hours. Traditional diagnosis requires a full dietary review, pulse and urine analysis. This need for pulse and urine analysis is one reason why we require an in-person intake even from long distance clients. One’s lifestyle, and how it contributes to health, happiness or disregulation is addressed. We can provide a write up for you to take to other health care providers that you are working with, for an additional charge.
